Richard Thomas has worked for 37 years in the Inland Revenue and then HMRC. Recruited as a Tax Inspector, he worked in a variety of posts including specialist investigation, District Inspector in Central London, as head of transfer pricing and CFC teams, and from 1989 to retirement in 2009 he specialised in the taxation of life assurance companies.
