Treasury outlines fiscal timetable

printer Mail

The Treasury has confirmed that there will be a full Budget in spring 2023, accompanied by Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) economic forecasts.

In the meantime, the chancellor intends to set out the UK government’s ‘medium-term fiscal plan’ on 23 November 2022. This will include further detail on the government’s fiscal rules on debt vs GDP and will be accompanied by a full OBR economic forecast.

The government intends to bring forward further ‘supply side growth measures’ in October and early November, including changes to the planning system, business regulations, childcare, immigration, agricultural productivity and digital infrastructure.

The chancellor will also outline financial services sector regulatory reforms in October, to ensure the sector ‘remains globally competitive’.
