The Tobacco Products (Traceability and Security Features) Regulations, SI 2019/594, implement the new EU security marking requirements applying to cigarettes and hand-rolling tobacco supplied in the UK on or after 20 May 2019. The same requirements will also apply to all other tobacco products supplied in the UK on or after 20 May 2024. HMRC consulted on a draft of these regulations during February and early March.
