Tax simplification: terms of reference

printer Mail

The terms of reference for the Office of Tax Simplification’s reviews of pensioner taxation and share schemes have been set out in a letter to the OTS from David Gauke, the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury. The OTS expects to publish technical papers seeking views on these areas by the end of this month.

Gauke has also asked the OTS to focus, in its further work on small business taxation, on alternative arrangements for taxing the smallest unincorporated businesses and investigating the case for tax relief ‘to make it easier for businesses to disincorporate’.

The OTS is asking for expressions of interest from firms who would like to second people to join the team and there will be limited opportunities for individuals to work with the OTS, the Treasury said.
