In our first article (The Tax Journal Issue 864 4 December 2006) we explained that KPMG had recently commissioned an independent survey (carried out by GfK NOP) of 200 UK-based finance directors and tax managers from a cross-industry sample of 'large companies' (FTSE350 and equivalent-sized foreign-owned companies) and larger 'middle market' companies (those with turnovers from £50 million). We set out some of the highlights from the survey results and summarised the key themes emerging:
