Debt is a word that resonates far wider — particularly in the current economic climate — than the world of tax. Indeed you only have to pick up a newspaper to read the alarming statistics of personal business/corporate and national debt. With so much pressure on public finances HMRC is therefore under some considerable pressure to minimise outstanding tax debt.
 
So what answers have the Government and HMRC found to deal with debtors with a particular emphasis on those with limited means?
