SDLT Conference

Mike Boutell Solicitor CMS Cameron McKenna reviews Tolley's Stamp Duty Land Tax conference which took place at the Berner's Hotel London on 4 October 2004

Anybody involved with real estate transactions is likely to testify that the introduction of stamp duty land tax (SDLT) has made life more difficult. Technically SDLT is more complicated than stamp duty not least because in the short time that it has been on the statute book the legislation has undergone two sets of material changes and administratively the burden of completing and filing the appropriate forms is onerous. There is likely to be a continuous demand for conferences on SDLT for the foreseeable future and this one is likely to become a regular fixture in the conference calendar.
