The Scottish Finance Secretary, Derek Mackay, has announced that the Scottish government’s Budget will be published on 6 February 2020. The announcement stated that although the Scottish Budget is usually held after the UK Budget (to allow for the funding agreement to be finalised), Scotland has been forced to hold the budget before the UK Budget on 11 March 2020 to allow sufficient time for Parliamentary scrutiny and to give local authorities time to set their budgets and council tax.
