Many of you will have recognised the Orwellian quote in the title to this article and will know that the rest of the phrase says '… but some are more equal than others'. This seemed an apposite phrase to use to describe partnerships! It is rare indeed to find a partnership of total equals where each partner puts in and takes out the same as all the others and each partner's opinion is as important as the rest. Perhaps this is something to aspire to in the perfect marriage! However in the business world a partnership of true equals may mean that nothing gets done.
