One minute with... David Jervis

How did you end up in tax?

I did a tax course at university as part of my law degree; I also enjoyed my tax seat during my training contract. I think I liked the analytical nature of tax which fitted with my mathematical background; maths was always a favourite subject at school.

What are you working on?

We are launching an Eversheds international tax disputes toolkit. We have seen the increasingly aggressive approach of tax authorities not only in the UK but also elsewhere in Europe so we hope this will help our clients deal with that particularly as the processes tactics and approach of revenue authorities to settlement and negotiation is very different in different jurisdictions and clients need to be aware of that.
