HMRC has issued a consultation paper (see www.lexisurl.com/LR9bz) on modernisation of its powers to call for information in bulk. The paper also deals with HMRC's powers to call for information on unnamed taxpayers. Comments are requested until 1 October 2009.
Excise administration
HMRC has also issued a consultation paper (see www.lexisurl.com/bNGAm) on excise administrative processes. Comments are likewise requested until 1 October 2009.
