The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations, SI 2020/338, increase the principal hourly rate of the national minimum wage from £7.70 to £8.20 from 1 April 2020. The hourly rate for workers aged 18-21 increases to £6.45; for those under 18 it increases to £4.55; and the apprentice rate increases to £4.15. The accommodation offset increases to £8.20 per day.

The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) (No 2) Regulations, SI 2020/339, widen the range of pay arrangements permitted for salaried hours workers under the national minimum wage rules with effect from 6 April 2020. The changes follow the BEIS consultation on salaried workers and salary sacrifice, which ran between December 2018 and March 2019.
