Mexico and Rwanda have joined the Punta del Este Declaration and Yaoundé Declaration respectively – regional initiatives for tax transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes.
The Punta del Este Declaration brings together 14 countries in Latin America to use the exchange of information ‘to tackle tax evasion, corruption and other financial crimes’. The Yaoundé Declaration similarly aims to improve international tax co-operation ‘to combat illicit financial flows’ in Africa and is supported by 31 countries.
