printer Mail

HM Treasury has published a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Scottish Fiscal Commission (SFC) and HM Treasury (HMT).

The purpose of MoU is to facilitate communication and regular engagement between the SFC and HMT, to ensure that the SFC has the necessary information to produce independent evaluations of the Scottish devolved government’s revenue and expenditure.

The objectives of the MoU include:

  • establishing working relationships between the two organisations;
  • coordinating efforts to ensure smooth operation of the Scottish Government’s fiscal framework;
  • ensuring HMT provides its support to the SFC with other UK departments; and
  • sharing of information.
