I first met Maurice 25 years ago when I moved office (and country?) from Edinburgh to London on qualification. In those days our tax practice in Edinburgh consisted of one partner two managers and in the last year of my apprenticeship me. Our tax practice in London was huge by comparison with several hundred people. We were in a shiny new building called Hill House and Maurice Parry-Wingfield was one of our leading tax partners specialising at the time in property and partnership tax matters.
