Hi readers and welcome to what I hope will be an enjoyable and interesting journey into the world of Tax in Retail.

For those of you out there who don't know me either in person or by reputation (and I hope that there are many who fall into these categories in the Revenue and C&E) I'm Gail Timmins and as well as looking after tax and insurance at Debenhams am the elected chair of the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Tax Policy Advisory Group.
