Daron Gunson of Parmentier Arthur Group meets Rob Withecombe National Head of Tax at Grant Thornton
On 1 July 2007 Grant Thornton merged with RSM Robson Rhodes: in size terms the combined firm is top of the second tier of accounting firms although there is a sizeable gap between it and the Big Four.
Rob Withecombe is National Head of Tax at the combined firm. I recently went to see him at his office near Euston Station to find out more about the merger and about Rob's career and his views on the current state of the UK tax system. We also touched on the Pre-Budget Report and HMRC's attitude towards tax planning.
