HMRC: Customs vision for 2020

HMRC has set out its strategic plan for the UK customs service in support of international trade for the period until 2020. This will include implementing the EU’s new Union Customs Code from May 2016, and replacing a number of digital systems for customs processes during 2017. HMRC expects international trade to increase by 15% over this period, with the UK planning to increase the number of exporters by 100,000, from a baseline of 108,000. See
