On 18 June Shout99 the leading organisation for freelancers held a conference at the Institution of Electrical Engineers to discuss issues raised by the Inland Revenue's recent use of the Chapter XV settlements legislation in the context of self-assessment enquiries into small businesses especially small limited companies. The audience was a mixture of freelancers and of the accountants who represent them.
