Financial Secretary, Jesse Norman, has confirmed that the government ‘remains committed to tax transparency and will continue to apply international standards on transparency and exchange of information’ after the end of the Brexit implementation period. Norman was responding formally to a written question asking if the government has plans to revoke the International Tax Enforcement (Disclosable Arrangements) Regulations, SI 2020/25 (which implement DAC 6 in UK law) after the transition period. Norman continued, ‘the government will keep the regulations under review. Further legislative action may be appropriate in light of the outcome of negotiations with the EU on the future relationship between the UK and the EU.’
