HMRC has published further new and updated guidance for imports, exports and customs to reflect the post-transition period regime:

  • Customs (Import and Export Declarations) (Amendment) Regulations, SI 2022/271: provide for certain goods being exported from the UK to support victims of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine to be declared for customs purposes orally or by an individual carrying out certain specified conduct. This easement is being provided for a limited period (until 19 June 2022).
  • Excise Duties (Northern Ireland etc Miscellaneous Modifications and Amendments) (EU Exit) Regulations, SI 2022/265: make provision for a new simplified model for persons removing excise goods to NI from GB by parcel and freight.
  • Taking humanitarian aid out of Great Britain to support Ukraine: this guidance advises businesses not to take medicines out of Great Britain using simplified processes if they do not have a licence to distribute them.
