Many tourists tend to regard Cyprus as merely an attractive destination for holidaymakers. However I found this island to be ideally suited to cater for the 'Countdown to the Enlarged EU' Conference which was extremely well organised by the PricewaterhouseCoopers' Prague and Cypriot offices.

As Cyprus was buffeted unusually by hurricane winds and rain storms I was caused to wonder — was this an omen for the enlargement of the EU?!
