With the amount of intelligent thought applied to the 'pension problem' and the greatly advertised 'simplification' of pension legislation you can be forgiven for believing that pension provision in the UK is by now on a stable simple footing. Of course it is anything but.
 
The 'simplified' pension regime which came into force on 6 April 2006 (known as 'A' Day) proves to be anything but simple. When applied to existing pension arrangements advice is ever more complex and the responsibilities placed on trustees and scheme administrators appear even more onerous.
 
The Pensions Act 2004 sought to provide greater levels of protection for scheme members...
