Chancellor hints at date for Autumn Budget?

The Chancellor has asked the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) to prepare its next economic and fiscal forecast in time to be presented on 27 October 2021. On that date, the Chancellor will deliver an update on the nation’s finances and economic outlook, and outline the government’s longer-term public spending plans.

OBR forecasts often take place at the same time as a fiscal event, but the government has not yet announced whether there will be an Autumn Budget on the same date.
