Car protection insurance
 
The appellant (IVC) provided at the relevant time an insurance service. A purchaser of a new car who took out IVC's product would be insured for three years against degradation of the vehicle's paintwork. The car would be treated with various chemicals by the car dealer and the purchaser would undertake to use a 'conserver' product regularly and purchase more of it from IVC at the end of years 1 and 2. The Tribunal appears to have considered the insurance to be of little use since the car-owner...
