Call for evidence on Scottish Air Departure Tax Bill

printer Mail

The Scottish Parliament’s finance and constitution committee has issued a call for evidence on the Air Departure Tax (Scotland) Bill, with a deadline for submissions of 10 February 2017. The Bill was introduced on 19 December and will give the Scottish government the power to levy a tax on the carriage of passengers on flights that begin in Scotland, when air passenger duty is devolved from April 2018.

Three public evidence sessions on the Bill are planned for February. These will include contributions from business, economic development and tourist organisations, the aviation industry and environmental bodies.
