Business rates review update

printer Mail

The government has said it will now publish its final report on the fundamental review of business rates in Autumn 2021.

The fundamental review of business rates was announced in last year’s Budget, and this was followed by a call for evidence in July. The call for evidence suggested two alternative taxing models: a capital values tax and an online sales tax (not to be confused with the UK’s digital services tax).

An interim report, including a summary of responses to the call for evidence, will be published on 23 March.
