Brexit transition guidance

HMRC has written to VAT-registered businesses in Northern Ireland highlighting actions they need to take in order to help them prepare for the end of the Brexit transition period. The letters cover moving goods between Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the EU and the rest of the world and the new Trader Support Service.

The Trader Support Service opened for registrations on 28 September 2020 and is designed to help businesses which move goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland or bring goods into NI from outside the UK. The service will provide guidance, training and support for customs declarations, including a programme of free information and training from the Northern Ireland Customs and Trade Academy.

Further new and updated guidance is expected, depending on the precise terms of any post-implementation period agreement between the UK and EU. As the end of the transition approaches, businesses may find it useful to bookmark the following collections of Brexit transition guidance:
