On 1 May 2004 the European Union will expand its membership from 15 to 25 countries admitting as its new Member States: Cyprus Czech Republic Estonia Hungary Latvia Lithuania Malta Poland Slovakia and Slovenia. Never before have so many countries joined the EU at the same time. And yet how many companies are really prepared both to handle the compliance and seize the opportunities from 1 May 2004.
