According to the Financial Times (30 June), tax incentives for long-term investors would be the priority for an incoming Labour government, rather than cuts in corporation tax, Ed Balls has said.

HMRC is consulting until 22 August on the Market Value of Shares, Securities and Strips Regulations, SI 2014/Draft.

The government tabled the following new clauses and amendments (in addition to those reported in last week’s Tax Journal) for Report Stage on 1–2 July:

Payments to a rugby club not deductible

Fine imposed by governing body not deductible
