HMRC is hoping that improvements to the system for processing internet filed self assessment trust returns will persuade more people to choose to file online.
A new automated system will improve accuracy in processing and reduce the time taken to handle repayments and to deal with follow up work HMRC said in the August issue of its newsletter for trusts and estates practitioners.
The newsletter also includes news on the trial of an inheritance tax ‘toolkit’ for agents; acceptance of national heritage property in lieu of IHT; and amended guidance on how to value land and buildings. See www.lexisurl.com/MiiKn.
