‘The Times has won the Investigation of the Year award at the British Journalism Awards for our series on tax avoidance.
‘Reporters Alexi Mostrous and Fay Schlesinger were jointly presented with the prestigious honour for their investigation, which saw the exposure of complex schemes used by celebrities, including Jimmy Carr, to shield their earnings from the taxman.
‘Giving the reasons for their award, the judges said: “This was a brave and determined investigation which exposed high profile rich figures who were effectively stealing from the poor.”’
