The chairman of the OTS Michael Jack wrote to the chair of the Public Accounts Committee Margaret Hodge MP in response to the recent PAC report titled Tax avoidance: The role of large accountancy firms. The letter is intended to set out a more accurate picture of the OTS’s work than that contained in the PAC’s report.
It states ‘The report gives the impression that in the two and half years that we have been in existence the only work we have done is to issue one report on tax reliefs. However ... that is far from the case.’.
