The National Insurance Contributions Bill 2021 completed its second reading in the House of Commons on 14 June 2021 and will now move onto the committee stage. The Bill will:
introduce a new secondary class 1 NICs relief for employers of freeport employees;
introduce a new secondary class 1 NICs relief for employers of armed forces veterans;
introduce an exemption for self-isolation support scheme payments from class 2 and class 4 NICs, and
widen the existing power to make regulations that impose requirements to disclose information in relation to arrangements that aim to avoid NICs.
