National Insurance Contributions Bill 2021 progress

The National Insurance Contributions Bill 2021 completed its second reading in the House of Commons on 14 June 2021 and will now move onto the committee stage. The Bill will:

  • introduce a new secondary class 1 NICs relief for employers of freeport employees;
  • introduce a new secondary class 1 NICs relief for employers of armed forces veterans;
  • introduce an exemption for self-isolation support scheme payments from class 2 and class 4 NICs, and
  • widen the existing power to make regulations that impose requirements to disclose information in relation to arrangements that aim to avoid NICs.
