It's a great pleasure to be able to contribute to this Issue 2000 of The Tax Journal being beamed to all tax advisers by the owners' All Linked Internet Subscribers Online News service. Looking back it's amazing how far we have come in the way our tax laws are developed and enacted since the days of Issue 1000. Some of the then practices really do now seem very outmoded as we look back.
