One of the more important goals of the Internal Revenue Service is to provide guidance to taxpayers regarding how they may properly report their taxes. One way that the IRS accomplishes this goal is to publish guidance which explains to the public the IRS's interpretation of the tax law. It does this by issuing regulations revenue rulings and other material published in the Internal Revenue Bulletin.
