The Treasury has published a press release highlighting the start of ‘flexible furloughing’ from 1 July 2020. Latest revisions to existing CJRS guidance cover the following:

  • ·    where employers have made an error when making a claim using the CJRS online service, the claim can be deleted within 72 hours;
  • paying employee taxes and pension contributions directly to HMRC on amounts paid to employees;
  • recording holidays taken by flexibly furloughed employees as furloughed hours rather than working hours;
  • calculating furloughed hours for different sets of circumstances;
  • the treatment of statutory payments received in the claim period; and
  • .

A new example has also been added on calculating an employee’s average hours for a variable-hours employee who took statutory adoption leave in 2019/20.
