The CIOT president, Susan Ball, has written to both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak setting out the institute’s views on what the new prime minister’s priorities should be for the tax system, namely:
sustained investment in HMRC to improve performance;
a review of existing digitalisation plans, given ‘serious concerns’ over the current ‘unrealistic’ timetable; and
