It seems that Poland does not like options and certainly not those provided for in the Sixth Directive. However after more than a year of tough discussions Parliament has finally decided to implement bad debt relief. Long discussions with the Minister of Finance were needed to convince government that introduction of this relief would not cause any disaster for the state budget and would make the Polish VAT system more user-friendly. However in order not to make the life of taxpayers too easy use of the bad debt relief requires quite tough formal conditions to be met.
