The Registered Pension Schemes and Overseas Pension Schemes (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations, SI 2012/884, ‘strengthen’ the tax provisions relating to the tax-free transfer of pension savings that have received UK tax relief to overseas pension schemes ‘so that the savings are used to provide an income in retirement as intended when the regime was introduced in 2006’.
