In recent months HMRC has set about building a 'mature relationship with large businesses'. In April 2006 the Large Business Service (LBS) published 'Working with Large Business' — a blueprint for building a new relationship between HMRC and large businesses. This was quickly followed by the announcement of a new 'Links with Business' project.
 
Since then LBS Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) have been busy arranging meetings with their client companies and groups to explain the LBS operating model. These meetings which are taking place against the backdrop of a much tougher HMRC stance in relation to tax planning arrangements and high-risk companies...
