I had not intended to join the public debate on section 660A because I know that my view differs from that of the majority of my peers and suspect I risk losing friends by doing so. However a combination of the Editor's persuasiveness and the unprecedented joint press release by six tax and accounting bodies and the FSB has convinced me that the contrarian view ought to at least be heard.
