Jean Monnet founding father of the first European community said 'men accept change when they feel need; they feel need only in a crisis'. The need for change is now being felt all across Europe. In the UK a series of announcements has recognised that EU law claims threaten corporate tax yield. Measures are being designed to try and address these concerns but will their short-term resolution by piecemeal legislation further complicate the position when a bigger solution is required to maintain the competitiveness of the tax system?
