On 14 November the government issued three consultation documents in respect of integrating income tax and national insurance and about increasing tax transparency. This is part of a desire to reduce administrative burdens and to simplify compliance costs as well as also targeting arrangements designed to minimise national insurance on income. The expat forum has also confirmed an HMRC arrangement to try and simplify compliance obligations on those leaving the UK.
