Robin Williamson reports on the ICAEW Tax Faculty Annual Residential Conference 2004 held on 24–26 June
The Tax Faculty's 2004 annual conference took place at the de Havilland Campus of the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield from 24 to 26 June. Its theme was the birth growth and end of a business. The venue was changed this year from St Hugh's College in Oxford — the modern university campus close to the A1 made up in better facilities and more comfortable accommodation for what it lacked in atmosphere and stately surroundings.
This annual event is an enjoyable social occasion as well as hard work and the days' relentless series of lectures are punctuated by convivial evenings. On the Thursday evening the England v Portugal football match drew large crowds...
