A proposal to repeal NIC regulations relating to lecturers, teachers, instructors and others working in a ‘similar capacity’ has been endorsed by the consultation process, HMRC said. The relevant provisions of the Social Security (Categorisation of Earners) Regulations, SI 1978/1689, and their Northern Ireland equivalent, will be repealed with effect from 6 April 2012.
