Launch of HMRC’s new ‘Manage and register pension schemes’ service, originally planned for 8 May, has been delayed until 4 June. Registration via the existing pension schemes online service will no longer be available after 1 June.
The new service is intended to replace the pension schemes online service completely after 2020. From April 2019, scheme administrators will be able to use the new service for reporting, and practitioner access will become available between 2019 and 2020.
HMRC has also confirmed that where registered pension schemes are also trusts, the scheme trustees do not need to register separately using the new trust registration service (TRS), but can update their trust details by contacting HMRC’s pension schemes services.
