Taxpayers and agents will be unable to use certain HMRC online services between Friday, 12 October at 6am and Monday, 15 October at 6am because of a scheduled upgrade to IT systems.
Those using commercial software to file self-assessment tax returns will still be able to submit returns but will experience a delay in receiving online acknowledgements, HMRC said.
Company tax returns may be submitted if the CT600 return has been downloaded in advance of the downtime or commercial software is used, but online acknowledgements will be delayed.
Details of these and other services affected are set out on the HMRC website. ‘This work is essential to continuing to improve our IT services and to bringing new software and hardware online,’ HMRC said. ‘We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.’
