I know Deutsche Morgan Grenfell have made a bit of a splash — something to do with advance corporation tax whatever that might be — but there was really only one story in town last month. That was Sir Nicholas Stern's report on climate change.
Apparently things are not so bad: we could spend 1% or so of global output in combating climate change now and save ourselves costs of up to 20% of global output later. Green taxes and carbon trading are effective mechanisms for limiting the damage. If we all act together we can co-operate to preserve the planet for our children.
