Gift Aid in its current form has been with us for just over five years. The head of the Charity Stream of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) announced at a recent Charity Tax Reform Group meeting that surprisingly even now half of regular donors do not use the Gift Aid arrangements. Anybody that is involved in the charity sector either directly or as a professional adviser should be extremely concerned at this statement.
